In the recently announced 26th World Chinese Students' Writing Competition, Xingzhi School in Sweden took 7 first prizes, 9 second prizes, 6 third prizes and 5 merit awards. Ten teachers were named Outstanding Guiding Teachers — the school's best result in the competition to date.
For the first time this year the topics were set by age band: youngest group (9 and under), junior group (10–12), intermediate group (13–15) and senior group (16–18), and for the first time merit awards were offered specifically for the youngest group. The competition drew more than 5.7 million students from 3,880 schools across 73 countries and regions. Our winning entries stood out among over 550,000 texts that reached the second round of review.
The World Chinese Students' Writing Competition began in 2000 and has now been held 26 times. It is also the only writing competition worldwide approved by China's Ministry of Education.
Since Xingzhi School was founded in 2016 we have entered for ten consecutive years, winning in total 4 grand prizes, 16 first prizes, 21 second prizes and 17 third prizes — the best result in Sweden, which we continue to hold.
