Wenzhou University's Overseas Chinese College sends congratulations on Xingzhi School's tenth anniversary

The Overseas Chinese College of Wenzhou University has sent a letter of congratulation to Xingzhi School Sweden on the school's tenth anniversary.

The letter says that over its ten years the school has held to its founding purpose — spreading the Chinese language and Chinese culture, teaching young people of Chinese heritage, and fostering people-to-people exchange between China and Sweden. It has worked close to the day-to-day realities of Chinese-language education in the Nordic countries, carried forward the best of traditional Chinese culture, served its students with care, and built a platform for cultural exchange between China and Sweden. Its results in teaching, in cultural outreach and in developing young talent are substantial, and they show clearly what an overseas Chinese-language institution can take responsibility for.

Earlier this year, Xingzhi School Sweden became a Chinese-language education research base of the Overseas Chinese College — a new starting point for co-operation between them. The letter expresses the hope that the school will take this as an opportunity to stay true to its founding purpose and keep going with perseverance, to make full use of the research-base platform, to keep raising the quality of its teaching, and to serve as a bridge between Chinese and Swedish culture — contributing still more to giving young overseas Chinese a grounding in their heritage, to spreading Chinese culture abroad, and to bringing the people of China and Sweden closer together.

The Overseas Chinese College of Wenzhou University is based in Wenzhou, a city long known for its overseas Chinese diaspora. The college is responsible for academic development, education and public service relating to overseas Chinese affairs, and specialises in research on overseas Chinese communities and in Chinese-language education.
