Lighting the lamp inside the child

I have taught at the school since 2019, and since 2024 I have also worked as a mother-tongue Mandarin teacher in Stockholm. I have long taught Chinese as a mother tongue and Chinese culture, and have built up wide experience.

My lessons are warm and lively, and I like to awaken an interest in language through games, stories and activities set in real situations. I care about building a positive rapport with the children, stay attentive to the differences between individual students, and create a learning environment that is safe, enjoyable and full of room to explore.

In practice I always hold warmth, patience and presence at the centre, building a safe, relaxed and trusting atmosphere in which children use Chinese naturally and without pressure.

The essence of education is waiting patiently for the flower to open. Every child has their own rhythm, like a seed just beginning to sprout: it needs to be seen, to be understood, and to grow under patient protection — our job is to learn to wait. One day that seed draws on everything it has gathered and flowers in its own particular way. Let learning Chinese become a lamp inside these children as they live in another country, lit at the right moment with the light of language and culture.
