A companion with warmth and strength

When my first child was born in 2011 I began exploring how children develop. I co-founded an early childhood education platform and built eight years of hands-on experience in family education; for four years I worked as a parenting guidance counsellor focused on supporting families. In 2018 I joined Xingzhi and brought that early childhood experience together with the idea of mother-tongue education in the classroom. For the past four years I have focused on mother-tongue teaching, following a path where interest drives and thinking guides.

Holding to what it means "to be a teacher", I follow four principles:

— Respect what is natural, awaken expression: I am good at spotting a child's strengths, and through encouragement and guidance I get them to dare to speak, want to speak and enjoy thinking; I shape habits positively and cultivate respect and care.

— Child first, an effective start: I build a relaxed, mobile atmosphere in the classroom and stir the appetite to learn through stories, games and experience in real situations, so children build language through natural speech.

— Thinking as power, learning in depth: I fold logical thinking, powers of observation and a sense for problems into the language work, helping children move from "able to talk" to "able to express and to think".

— Home and school together, warm support: with long experience in parenting guidance I read the logic behind parent–child interaction and offer concrete, workable advice, so that everyone's efforts pull the same way.

"Every child's language is a seed just beginning to sprout. The point of education is not to grow on the child's behalf, but to give them light, give them time and accompany them upward. I want to be the companion — with warmth and with strength — who is there as their feeling, their expression and their thinking develop."
