Renew the known, create the new, explore the unknown

I am Teacher Xiaoyin. As a visiting scholar I have looked closely at how education works across different cultures and at the frontier of research. My main fields are information visualisation and sustainable design, with the aim of moving society forward through inventive design.

I have worked in education for over twenty years, always with love for the work and persistence in it, striving to give students a learning environment full of inspiration and invention.

Moving from teaching university students in China to teaching children at Xingzhi has been an entirely new challenge for me. In practice I focus on awakening the children's interest in Chinese, so that in a relaxed and cheerful atmosphere they feel the pull of the language and want to take part in learning of their own accord. I believe that only when children genuinely become interested in Chinese will they travel far along that road.

At Xingzhi I want to keep renewing what I already know, create what is new, and explore the unknown with courage. I believe every child carries limitless potential and limitless possibility. I want to grow together with them, and together meet the wide world and the stars of the universe.
